Dick Price of the The Price Law Firm Co-Founds The International Academy of Attorneys for Divorce over 50
FORT WORTH, Texas— The Price Law Firm in downtown Fort Worth, Texas is announcing their involvement in the creation of a successful non-profit organization aimed at assisting couples who are over 50 and faced with divorce.
In late 2010 The International Academy of Attorneys for Divorce over 50 (IAAD50) was created after several successful family law attorneys across the nation agreed that the needs of couples over 50 who were divorcing for the first time were quite different from younger couples who were going through the same process. “We are working together to find solutions to special needs of couples divorcing after long-term marriages”, according to Dick Price.
The IAAD50 website has extensive information directed towards couples over 50 and the unique issues that come with a divorce at this time in life, such as finding new career directions, retirement, needs for spousal support, complex property division, tax planning, family businesses or professional practices and counseling or coaching.
The International Academy of Attorneys for Divorce Over 50 is focused on the unique concerns of people over fifty years of age going through divorce and post-divorce matters. We are committed to providing a central resource for education for separating spouses, and promoting excellence in the standard of practice in family law.

Price Law Firm among the First to Introduce a Flat Fee Payment Option
FORT WORTH, Texas— Beginning in March of 2008, Price Law Firm will be one of the first law firms in Fort Worth to offer a flat fee payment option. The firm will initially offer clients the option to choose either paying the traditional hourly fees for services or flat fees which are determined individually for each case after an initial consultation.
The flat fee requires a payment in advance for specified services. A flat fee is based on the services to be rendered and their complexity. Once set, flat fees do not increase. However, additional fees may be charged to pay for services not included in the original agreement. “Many clients prefer the flat fee arrangement because they know at the beginning what their financial commitment will be,” said Dick Price of Price Law Firm.
Under the traditional hourly fee system, clients maintain a specified level of retainer that is billed against until the matter is completed. Monthly statements are sent out specifying the work done and hours expended.
With either approach, the services are spelled out in a written agreement. Both options are discussed with prospective clients and they choose the plan they prefer.
The flat fee payment option has become more popular among attorneys nationwide in recent years because it is a more customer oriented payment plan.
